We'll Prescribe You a Cat: Heart Warming Healing

Book Image Credit to GoodReads. Graphic Design by Nina
"A cat a day keeps the doctor away.’ Cats are more effective than any other medicine out there." Would you believe if someone tells you this? Odd as this seems, research confirms this true when it comes to mental well-being. Findings say cats improve sleep, give companionship, create healthy routine, provide comfort and help cope with loss.

If you love reading and cats, the novel “We’ll prescribe you a cat” by Syou Ishida is perfect for you. The story does not only have one cat in it but many. The imagery of the cats are so adorably vivid. The story opens with something that sparks curiosity. It gripped my attention right away. It kept me reading to find out what is happening. The pacing is just right as it unfolds little by little. The novel seemed to have different stories in it woven into one. The first part was about a man who was going through sleeplessness, tinnitus and lack of appetite. These symptoms were caused by the stressful environment at his work. He finds himself at the Nakagyo Kokoro Clinic for the Soul with a cat in his arms. The plot twist made me feel worried and gave me a sense of relief at the turn of the events. The ending warmed my heart. I guess the cat distribution rings true about this first story, a cat chooses their owner somehow.

The second part in “We’ll prescribe you a cat” is hilarious. Definitely filled with good vibes. It is light but still had depth about the positive power of appreciative, kind and uplifting sincere words. People feel seen, acknowledged and loved. Would you believe a cat can lead to that realization? How that happened is for you to find out once you read “We’ll prescribe you a cat.”

There are times in our life that we have regrets and wished we could turn back time to make things right. How often do we get that chance? In this third story, a mother finds herself with a cat that flashes back to her childhood. The striking resemblance of the cat to the kitten in her past was uncanny. It was as if fate gave her the chance to heal from regret and guilt. She can find closure in being able to take care of a cat. Now did the woman took the chance? Hmmm, curious as a cat? Well, you better read the novel. This one is a beautiful and mysterious way how life comes full circle.

Does life need to be perfect before we can enjoy it? The fourth story just might answer that. Two cats turn a perfectionist woman’s life topsy turvy. She finds herself softened by adoring daydreams of her cat. More tolerant of imperfections and fueled by joy, love and admiration for her cats, these turned into overflowing creativity in her designs. This opened doors to a cat loving client. At the same time, she finally confronts which part of her life needed a sense of direction the most.

Is it possible to heal from guilt, regret and heartbreak? The fifth story in this novel “We’ll prescribe you a cat” speaks of how these emotions build up in a woman’s life. She carries her guilt, regret and heartbreak. A cat that is an epitome of her favorite food and the moon enters her life suddenly. Is this cat enough to heal her heart? The novel starts to gradually shift into a perplexing plot twist towards the end. It gets more interesting when the puzzling conversations of the nurse and the doctor and their resemblance to other people becomes apparent all throughout the story.  The novel “We’ll prescribe you a cat” is magical, mysterious, light with just the right depth, heartwarming and healing.

The Artist’s Way: An Awakening, Recovery, Rediscovery and Reinventing of the Inner Artist

Creativity is the ability to make beautiful art as an expression of the self and our own perception of the world. Art comes in an array of forms like painting, coloring, drawing, pottery, sculpture, mixed media illustrations, movies, music, photography, theater, fashion, embroidery, crochet, graphic design, clay, poetry, short stories, novels, essays, singing and dancing. All these art forms have various genres too. The vast forms of art surely comes from the most powerful and brilliant artist – God. As created in the image and likeness of God, we are indeed His masterpieces. We share in the power of God to create, we are inherently artists by nature. As artists we are called to create beauty depth and wonder in this world. According to the Cognitive Development Theory of Jean Piaget, we have an innate need for beauty and brilliance in order to thrive. People form knowledge by meeting their cognitive needs and aesthetic needs. We learn and adapt in life through meeting our cognitive needs. We appreciate the complexity of life and feel at peace when we fulfill our aesthetic needs. Both these needs are nourished through art. It is in being creative that we are able to make sense of the world, process our thoughts and feelings, express and cope in life in an adaptive manner. Even research confirmed that art lights up the mind. Creating art calms the heart and clears the mind.

Creativity is essential to well-being. It is high time that we embrace being an artist in our own right. What defines an artist though? An artist is a person who enjoys creating any form of art in any chosen genre. Someone who draws, paints, colors, sculpts, sews, crochets, embroiders, molds clay, takes photographs, writes, designs, acts, films movies, sings and dance for fun, passion or by profession. If anyone would ask me if I am an artist, I definitely would say of course, yes. I am an artist. I am a creative writer. How about you? Have you ever considered yourself to be an artist at some point in your childhood or some time in your life? Did growing up dampened and diminished your creativity? If yes, I assure you that you are not alone. Life happened and I kind of lost my creativity too. We all go through that but what we do about this is all that matters. Time to get your spark back in life through embracing the artist that you are. Guess what? I have just the book for you to awaken, recover, rediscover and reinvent your artist self. Get ready for it. I highly recommend that you go on a creative journey by reading and doing the tasks in The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron.

Story time how I came across this book, I sat in the computer staring at the blank page, the cursor blinking at me. For what seemed like an hour, the cursor incessantly blinked waiting for me to type something, anything. Three more minutes passed and still nothing.

How many times have I found myself like this? Sigh. I used to write like the words are continuously flowing freely. Are those days really gone? Is my writing life, over? I remembered how blissful and fulfilling it was to just write – until word count, page count and life happened all at once. I closed the Word document and went on a different platform to rant to my fellow writers. “Writer’s block is like constipation.” Excuse the gross analogy but it is true. I have watched videos about increasing word count and joined writing communities but I still have not figured out how to overcome my writer’s block. I am on the verge of just dropping my pen for good. One fateful night a fellow writer asked if anyone would like to join her to read and do the tasks in The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. Curious for some tea, I was the first to jump in. Later on, more fellow creatives joined in too. The first part unravels how an artist becomes blocked, identifies the causes and presented tasks for unblocking the inner artist. At first, I do not see much the sense of affirmation, morning pages and artist dates. Plot twist! These and the other tasks were healing my heart and mind. By Chapter 5, my creativity is awakened little by little. I enjoyed Chapter 3 the most. I love the concept of Synchronicity. Those who knew about Synchronicity says that Synchronicities have always been around us, we just need to be attuned to it. Synchronicities are just life changing for me. I felt like looking forward to good things, guidance and a sense of being supported by God every day. It gave me a feeling of connection with God - the highest creative force. There were small and gradual yet significant changes in me as we went along the tasks. It felt like I am finding my artist self again and by the time I have recovered my creativity, I am ready to nurture, rediscover and reinvent my artist self.

The Inner Artist lives! Yay! Cat Photo credit to Moderncat.com

I love that The Artist Way was written with clarity. The tasks were enjoyable and done at our own phase. It was an overall effective creative journey for me. Have you read The Artist Way yet? If you haven't, why? This is your sign to find your inner artist. Get The Artist Way by Julia Cameron now and start your creative adventure.

Sunrise on the Reaping: A Striking Uprise

How is power misused and destroyed? Curious? Well you might want to look closely at the unraveling of Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. In the Sunrise on the Reaping, Panem paints an oppression of social class that comes from the scarcity of basic needs and instigation of fear. The story begins with how life is like in District 12 as told by Haymitch Abernathy. It goes on to the turn of events when one tried to protect the one they love the most. I love how the story unfolds at a gradual phase as it builds momentum from amazing, emotional to shocking plot twists. I am enthralled by how Haymitch spoke of his beloved. I find the love between Haymitch and Lenore so captivating – how they remained true to their own individuality. They have the mutual intensity of love for one another.  “I love you like all-fire” was how they conveyed it.

In the story, a game of life and death called the Reaping in the guise of entertainment of the rich and powerful is their capricious and devious display of power. The unfolding of the story was a heartbreak after another. The pain of being torn away from loved ones felt so vivid I cried. In the midst of it all, it was bewildering to see words and acts of rebellion as an attempt to bite back at the oppressors. The will to survive is glaring. I am amused with the sassy fashion side comments of Maysilee Donner.  The tokens as subtle weaponry more than merely fashion is fascinating. I am amazed with the brilliant plan of Beetee and subtle execution of it. I was in awe of Wiress’ survival skills. The moments of victory left me cheering for the Newcomers as alliance were built and stood out when they spoke out in the interview. The devious oppression infuriated me.

Every part of this book is a page turner. I could not wait to read what will happen next. This novel is beautifully laden with remarkable quotes and the comforting significance of strawberry ice cream. The challenge to fulfill the blatant uprising made it even intensely incredible and satisfying. The cost is unbearably devastating. Just when I thought the downfall of Haymitch even as a Victor could be a loss in vain, Lenore’s last words became a catalyst for Haymitch to live on and never let the sun rise on the Reaping again. I believe this novel ties up all the sequels and resolves why Haymitch became detached and distant. It was deeply empowering how Maysilee and Lenore even in death held their dignity intact in determined hope that one day the Reaping will end.

Need I say more? Sunrise on the Reaping is absolutely worth every time spent reading. Have you read it yet? Which part did you love the most? All Rights Reserved. The Blissful Inkblot: Creative Journey

Image Credit to Maxim Hopman on Unsplash

Hey World, How’s it going? I’m Nina – passionate writer, blogger, poet, novelist, digital journal seller, Beta Reader and Affiliate Marketer. I began writing poetry since I was seven. At twelve years old, I remember the first poetry I wrote was about a clock. By the time I’m 16, I wrote several poems in my notebook every after school. I just wrote for the fun of it not really ever daring to have anyone read it. Fast track to College, I tried out as a News Writer for The Josephine Journal and the rest is history. I transitioned from News Writer, Features Writer, Managing Editor and Features Editor to Editor-in-Chief. With the brilliance, passion and efforts of my fellow writers and creative staff, we were able to publish 4 College Newspapers and 1 literary folio under my term.

Right after graduating College, I worked as a Research Writer and received recognition as a Savant Writer for writing the most number of pages. It was such a blissful life to work in the Writing Industry. I worked on my poetry book and Fantasy novel which I previously published online. Nonetheless, I still intended to publish into actual books. I continued writing through blogging. As years go by, I got into Beta Reading. I built up the skills to critique written works at the same time made book reviews on my blog. Since I enjoyed creating basic graphic designs and journaling, I began selling digital journals too. I ventured into Affiliate Marketing by posting products online for commissions. So there, that’s my creative journey in a nutshell. My heart would be forever grateful if you’d purchase any of my digital journal at my Kofi Shop or hire me to write a blog content or beta read your manuscript. Just send me a message and I will be more than happy to get back to you.

Dearest wonderfully made Nina,

You add life to this world with your light. You shine with so much pure love and joy in a way that only you can. You are meant to shine and make life meaningful for others too. Nina, you have uplifted people you love and strangers too with kind words, prayers, smile, good vibes, financial blessings and so much more. If you can do that for others without expecting in return, I truly have hope and faith that you are capable, brave, strong and brilliant enough to create the life of your dreams not for yourself but for your loved ones and above all to glorify God. You have often cheered, comforted, supported and felt happy for others but this time, allow yourself to be fully loved and receive all the kindness in the world. Nina you are faithfully and wonderfully made by God. You can do all things in Christ who strengthens you. God is within you. You will not fail.

Always remember, you deserve the world where you are peaceful, joyful, abundant, successful, loved and filled with good works. You are rare (people often say that by the way) - the coolest, funniest, brilliant and amazing person on my books, more than you think you know. Please hold on and keep going no matter what because everything works out in favor of those who love God not just in heaven but here in this world too. You are already successful in your own right by leaving a legacy of small and unseen acts of kindness, you have succeeded and you will succeed infinite times more. There is only space for love, peace, joy, calm, abundance, good vibes, faith and hope in your world. Nina, you are my fave human from now on and forever. Welcome back home to your most awesome self! You are your own reason to smile and your own kind of beautiful. I am always so proud and thankful of you. May God bless you with endless peace, joy, success, abundance, beautiful, meaningful and healthy life.

Love, peace and all the best,

Nina

Track Your Mood with A Digital Mood Tracker: Your Guide to Emotional Wellness

Image Credit to Ella Jardim on Unsplash

Keeping track of your emotional health is just as important as monitoring your physical well-being. Whether you're managing anxiety, improving mindfulness, or simply staying more in tune with your emotions, a Digital Mood Tracker can be a powerful tool.

In this guide, you’ll learn:

  • What a digital mood tracker is
  • How it helps improve your mental health
  • Why it’s perfect for creatives, students and busy professionals

✨ What is a Digital Mood Tracker?

A Digital Mood Tracker is a self-care tool that lets you log your daily emotions and reflect on patterns over time. Think of it as an emotional journal—only cleaner, more visual, and interactive. You can use them with apps like GoodNotes, Notability, or even in Google Sheets or PDF format.

Whether you prefer to tap in a mood emoji or use detailed notes, digital mood trackers give you control and clarity over your mental state.

🧠 Why Track Your Mood Daily?

Tracking your mood daily can help you:

  • Spot emotional triggers and stressors
  • Understand how habits affect your feelings
  • Communicate better with therapists or partners
  • Monitor symptoms of depression or anxiety
  • Improve self-awareness and emotional regulation

When you track consistently, you begin to see the “why” behind your moods—not just the “what.” This insight is powerful, whether you're healing, growing, or simply maintaining emotional balance.

🔥 Why a Digital Mood Tracker is Better

Compared to paper trackers, a digital version offers:

  • 📱 Portability – Access on your phone, tablet, or laptop
  • 🎨 Customization – Choose your own colors, mood categories, and layouts
  • 📊 Visual Insights – Graphs, trends, and year-in-pixels charts
  • 🔄 Easy Editing – Mistakes? Just undo or update—no scribbles required
  • 🌍 Eco-Friendly – No printing necessary 🛒

This is not just a tracker—it’s a tool for self-discovery and emotional mastery.
