It made me curious enough to follow through as the flow of the story unfolds. This gives a vibe of dark fantasy although I am not a fan of such, it was able to pique my interest as to how the injustice could be overcome. It may not be as vivid in imagery but I am amazed that through emotions it showed me how life is like in their world – The Seam. The challenge of surviving everyday hunting and selling for food.
The sense of oppression how only the people in power have financial access to sustenance. It broke my heart and angered me to feel the suffering. Nonetheless, I see how brave, strong and determined the people in The Seam continued to keep surviving within the laws of their world. I love the irony of the main character’s abrasive and tough personality at the same time the depth of how she cared. She goes to the extent that she would go through risks and sacrifices for those she cared about.
The Hunger Games gave me a glimpse of surviving and impeccable resilience. I felt the adrenalin rush as she fought her will to survive and keep her promise. I did not see it coming how the unnecessary death left me in tears over someone deserving to live. I feel like the Hunger Games is more like action, suspense, a bit of love story and survival all rolled into one. After all the wild ride of emotions and thoughts, I only wished there was a closure to justify the story’s predicament.
